Jane Birkin is one of my favorite style inspirations from the 1960’s/1970’s. As an English born singer and actress with a famous relationship with Serge Gainsbourg, she was constantly in the public eye and became an instant style icon. With her effortless hair (bangs!) and  easy going outfits filled with basic tee’s, jeans and dresses, she exuded a carefree look that is attainable for the every girl. I especially love the straw basket she used as a purse. She also was the inspiration for the widely coveted Hermes Birkin bag, which as far as I’m concerned, it not for the every girl. However, as an all-time classic bag worth thousands, you can see how her sense of style made a definite mark on the fashion industry.
